Rochester Regional Health hospital tasked us with the challenge to design a way-finding system that uses AR technology and allows visitors to navigate through hospital with as little friction and stress as possible.
I partnered up with the talented John Pascarella to form our team Psychic Lemons and create Wayfind - an app that makes hospital guests feel taken care of.

What can we do to create a user-centric app and hospital visit experience?
We decided to address this issue by focusing on three pillars - Clarity, Stability and Respect, in order to create an experience that is streamlined, intuitive and stress free.

We can reduce friction by streamlining check-in, and guiding visitors throughout their entire experience.

We can create a stable user experience that responds gracefully to unexpected events such as loss of connection or low battery.

“As a patient, I want to be aware of who is visiting me, and have control over who can access my room.”
Our app is HIPPAA compliant, with most information inaccessible and visit-specific details being synced to the user's phone.

Our app responds to patient demands and guides visitors accordingly, informing guests of when they can visit and access patient rooms.
This style is inspired by spaces that feel foreign, yet comfortable. Our tone is reminiscent of gracious hotels, clean hallways, and peace of mind even in crisis. It is minimally colorful, spacious, and welcoming. It conveys a sense of nurture, convenience, and reliability.

Augmented lines form a pathway to the users destination, making confusion nearly impossible. Future steps can be seen when the menu is expanded.

The app takes full advantage of AR technology by making use of the environment around the user. For instance, elevators can be used to visualize real time location.
